Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2, 2026

These terms cover pocketshell.io, app.pocketshell.io, and PocketShell's hosted sync and connection services, operated by Alexey Grigorev. Questions: hello@pocketshell.io. Software distributions may have separate license terms, which continue to apply.

Using PocketShell

PocketShell lets you manage remote hosts and access SSH and agent sessions from supported devices. Use it only with servers, accounts, credentials, and files you are authorised to access. Do not use the service for unlawful activity, unauthorised access, malware, or interference with other users or infrastructure.

You are responsible for commands you run, files you transfer, agents you start, and any costs incurred on your servers or with third-party providers. Check commands before sending them: changes made through a terminal can be irreversible.

Accounts and credentials

Keep your Google account, devices, SSH credentials, and sync passphrase secure. Do not share credentials or attempt to bypass access controls. PocketShell may restrict access during development or for security reasons.

Encrypted sync depends on your passphrase. We cannot recover encrypted settings if you lose it. Web SSH connections may send credentials through a PocketShell bridge or relay to establish the requested connection. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

Availability and development

PocketShell is under active development. Features may change, fail, or become temporarily unavailable. Keep independent backups of important information and another way to access your servers. Closing a PocketShell tab or signing out may leave remote agents and sessions running; stop them on the remote host when needed.

The service is currently offered free of charge. If paid hosted features are introduced, their price and terms will be presented before you purchase them.

Third-party services

Google sign-in, hosting providers, remote servers, and AI tools are independent services with their own terms. PocketShell does not control their availability, charges, or handling of information outside PocketShell's service.

Suspension and ending use

We may suspend access to address abuse, security incidents, or legal requirements. You may stop using PocketShell at any time. To request deletion of data held by PocketShell, contact hello@pocketshell.io. Uninstalling an app or clearing browser data does not by itself delete synced data or files on your servers.

Responsibility and changes

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

We may revise these terms as the service evolves. Changes will be published here with an updated date. Contact us if a change affects your use or if you need help ending use of the service.
